I have been using Z-max ever since it was introduced on the retail market. Right now I am using it on a regular basis in a 1998 Honda CRV with over 100,000 miles on it and the vehicle still runs like brand new. We also own a 2005 Honda Civic EX with only 52,000 miles but since I started using it (Fuel, Transmission, Engine & Power Steering) in this vehicle I have seen my gas mileage increase from about 32-34 MPG to over 40 MPG (Highway). I put it in as directed, every other oil change. To be perfectly honest, I use full synthetic motor oil and a K&N Air filter and thats it. Everything is completely stock.

From an expert: Don't use any oil additives whatsoever, NONE of them are effective and many are damaging. Simply use a good quality oil, its got all the additives you need.

Everybody and their brother has some sort of miracle oil additive that promises to add horsepower, recondition your engine, increase fuel economy, and protect your engine from anything and everything. Listen to that claim, it even sounds like they're selling snake oil! Unfortunately they are. Prolong, Slick50, Duralube, zMax, etc have all been sued by the FTC for deceptive product marketing, as they have all been tested and none actually showed the benefits they tout. In some cases, the oil additives were actually more harmful for the engine then using oil alone. What about zMax? Nothing more then tinted mineral oil. How can this be? There are absolutely no standards or regulations governing the safety or effectiveness of oil additives. Oil additives fall into four categories: pure snake oil, PTFE, Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, and detergent-based. The snake oil category are simply those products that are a complete sham, like zMax, Slick50 and Prolong. Do your research.....

This product is real! I tell all my friends/family about Z-max. I been using this product for a long time. I had a 1991 ford taurus I bought for $600.00 in 2001 from a friend a work, if any body know any thing about ford taurus they are always in the junk yards, at 50,000 miles they are falling apart! I sold my taurus in 2010 for $300.00 with 556,000 miles on it and I have the proof. (Same engine when I bought the car with 92,000 miles on it.) I have 1989 Jeep that I use for work! (353,000 miles on it - Still running strong)! I bought the jeep with 87,000 miles on it! Z-max will cause a lot problems for car dealers because most people would keep their car longer. I saw some bad write ups on Z-max and had to say something. I tried slick 50 and other products like it, they are right, don't use them. I don't know anybody from the Z-max company or work for them, I don't like during written review, but there are so many scams on tv and on the internet that when someone does something honest and I know its honest, it is my job to speak up! I will never buy a use car without putting z-max in my engine! I can't speak for the gas treatment, because I'm not 100% sure on that product, but if you want to keep your use engine for a long time, I will 100% back up z-max! For the rest of the claims of the other Z-max products I'm not sure!
