Bought this at home depot for $200, and used it about 8 times over 8 weeks. Reasonably easy to maneuver, cuts the grass decently, and cord management is not an issue as long as you remember the golden rule, which is to start from the area closest to the electrical outlet.

Last spring gas prices spiked again, so I decided to replace my ancient gasoline-powered workhorse of a lawn mower. It would cut thru anything, but it was starting to show its age, so I did some research and decided on the B&D MM1800. To ensure easy access, I also purchased a 50 foot easy-to-spot yellow heavy duty outdoor extension cord in anticipation of years of rugged use. I used the MM1800 for the first mowing of the season, the grass was dry and ranged from 4-6 inches tall. The MM1800 wasn't as robust as my old mower, but it slowly managed that first cut. I was so proud. I imagined using the quiet mower in the cool of early morning without having to worry about disturbing neighbors. The next weekend I started my second mow. After just 15 feet it sounded as though something was hitting the plastic shell of the mower. I checked the ground for debris, tilted the mower, gingerly spun the blade to see if something was caught. The blade seemed off balance. I thought it just needed to be tightened since it was new. I asked my brother, the mechanic, to bring some tools to tighten the blade. He removed it to get a good look--he wasn't happy. Basically the blade is screwed into plastic surrounded by plastic. I had no problem with the idea of a molded plastic shell, but the works of something that spins at incredible speeds, generating heat, running over changing terrain, sometimes finding rocks and twigs while trying to chop through vegetation--that needs more than plastic. There was no way to seat the blade so that it would spin properly. The mower's erratically wobbling blade was dangerous and no longer cut. This wasn't a manufacturing error this is a major design flaw. I intended to return the mower, but while the boxed mower had fit into my Civic's back seat, and despite my ability to drag my old mower all over town with no problems, and despite the claims that the MM1800 is perfect for storing in tight spaces, the heavy, awkward, bulky, MM1800 wouldn't fit in the trunk or my car at any angle. Time slipped away and soon the return period had expired--I take responsibility for that. I wish someone would take resposibility for redesigning this mower. The bottom line for me is that I spent over $200 to mow my lawn once--I hope you have a better experience than I did.

I was getting tired of 1) my gas-powered mower giving me issues and 2) having to determine what the problem was (spark plug? clogged filter? bad gas?). So I decided to buy an electric mower. After reading dozens of reviews, and not wanting to have to replace a battery every two years with a cordless mower, I picked up the MM1800 at a local brick-and-mortar store.
I've had this mower for 3 weeks now. Plain and simple, I love it.
Assembly was very easy; it took about 10 minutes to attach the handle. It comes with padded handle grips already attached (but not pictured), so your hands aren't rubbing against bare metal. It has a lever for the simultaneous height adjustment of all four wheels. I like to mulch when I mow, so I don't use the bag to catch the grass clippings. You will need a 100' cord to mow comfortably; I'm fortunate enough to have outlets on 3 sides of my house, so it reaches the outer edges of my 1/4-acre lot with plenty of cord to spare.
Mowing with a cord will take a little practice at first. I now have a pattern where I mow closest to the house first and then mow away from it, keeping the cord between the house and the mower. I don't have any serious issues with power; the mower gets a little slower in thicker, taller grass, but so did my gas mower. The noise level is not as quiet as I thought it would be, but it's not as loud as the gas mower (to me, it sounds like my leaf blower, but muffled quite a bit). I used one reviewer's tip and sprayed Pam underneath the mower. It really works...cleanup is a breeze.
Considering that I don't have to worry about spark plugs, oil, gas, filters and tune-ups, along with the added benefit of not having to breathe noxious fumes, I'm very happy with my purchase.
