I really love this shoe cabinet. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because depending on the types of shoes you are storing, you will most likely not get 60 pairs in it. I removed two of the vertical dividers to allow larger slots for high heeled shoes and boot shoes. The smaller slots will comfortably hold low to no heeled sandals and flip flops. I wear a womens size 7 1/2 and have to put the heeled shoes in the larger slots.
It really is real wood, minus the backboard. It looks beautiful and protects your shoes at the same time! I have the dark oak. It does take quite a bit of time to put together, but was well worth it. It's the best shoe storage I've ever owned. Would really love to eventually get another one.
Note that it does ship in two separate boxes. At first I thought I was missing the doors, but they arrived a couple of days later in a separate box.

If you love shoes, this shoe cabinet is for you. I love it. I stores my shoes - not all of them though. I originally thought it would look cheap. On the contrary, this product is beautiful. I also use the top as shelf. I gave it a 4 star rating because high heels shoes do not always fit as a pair unless one puts one shoe per compartment. I guess east asian have smaller feet.

When I had read many of the reviews, not only on the amazon site, but on the home decorators collections, I was expecting many of the pieces to be shoddy and not fit well together. I was pleasantly surprised. The inserts in the middle are well made (they are composite wood so they can be thin), the holes were drilled correctly and everything was labeled well. I thought the directions we easy to follow, although it does take awhile for the piece to be put together. The finished piece is very pretty and a great option for us, since our house does not have a hall closet.
Anyone buying this piece should be aware that the holes are small. We have a family of five so we opted for the biggest size (60 pair). I think conservatively it fits more like 30 adult pairs (unless they are flip-flops) and 60 kids pairs. I would suggest dividing the number of shoes they suggest in half for each of the pieces to get an accurate estimate of how many shoes they hold (12,21 and 30). If you had very large men's shoes I do not think they would fit in the piece unless you remove some of the dividers (which would further reduce the number). To fit boots we simply used a jigsaw and cut off two slots on the one of the horizontal dividers. This provided a place for the leg of the boot.
I have looked at many different options out there, this is a head above the competition. It is one of the few pieces that has doors if you do not want to see the shoes. I would highly recommend the product. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because of the size of the slots, which if they advertised it correctly would not be an issue.
