This unit worked great right out of the box...
havent tried it on the pole yet,seems like it
might be a bit heavy but the pole seems strong enough.
have plenty of bar oil and know it is a bit slow
to fill the chamber but the auto oiler worked great
and very easy to adjust tension on the chain

I wish I could have given it 5 stars. After using several other brands of electric chain saws, this chain saw is superior. I am convinced it would cut through just about any size tree and it is built to last. Unfortunately, I bought it to use as a pole saw. While the pole powered up fine, something inside the chain saw was not hooked up properly so it would not function as a pole saw only in chain saw mode. Amazon was wonderful about the return as always, but I hated to see it go back since I had to find another pole saw/chain saw combo that worked.

Was pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness of this saw. I live on a farm where I use a sthil cahainsaw for felling trees for fence posts and also for firewood. I needed a chainsaw to cut overhanging tree limbs on the house without risking life and limb climbing trees. This saw cuts with a short sharp blade on a 8' pole and it functions as regular chainsaw when disconnected from the pole. The design and function are nicely done. The motor has adequate power. Yes, the chainsaw end is heavy but that is actually what you need. Just hold the pole at the proper angle.
Highly recommend.
